"Discover how YOU can win back your good health after hypertension!!"
On April 2, 2001, I received the shock of my life, when I failed a medical examination as part of an offshore assignment for an LNG Plant in Abu Dhabi, UAE. My blood pressure was listed as 170/110!
I always believed I was in good health and previously had no history of cardiovascular disease. But subsequent monitoring indicated that indeed, I had hypertension!
And not only that, I had elevated cholesterol, triglycerides, and uric acid!
Hypertension affects an estimated fifty million Americans and countless millions worldwide. It is the most significant predisposing factor for heart attack, stroke, and peripheral artery disease.
But the good news is, ninety-five percent of all hypertension is controllable.
Since the time that I was diagnosed with hypertension, I started learning everything I could about this physical attack on my life. I found out that you can take charge of your good health and you can:
In my case, a combination of:
Diet
Nutritional supplementation
Exercise
Stress Management
... made that possible.
Oh and going back in 2001, after some lifestyle changes that included dieting and walking for exercise along the sea near where we lived for a month, I lost a total of 12 pounds, my cholesterol had fallen from 210 to 190, my triglycerides read 120, and my blood pressure was 140/90! I know, it was still not good but it was a very good start.
I got the assignment and in fact, stayed there for almost five years – but more important, I got a wakeup call about my health and saved myself from further serious complications.
For a time I didn't want to talk about hypertension... didn't want to be another stastistic in a long list of people who are afflicted with this modern-day disease.
But I decided to tell my story to warn others that, with proper guidance on diet, physical exercise, nutritional supplementation and stress management, they might not have to endure the same discomfort I did.
Like the rest of you, I just wanted to be a normal and healthy person living a normal life. It is my sincere desire that by sharing my experience in dealing with my hypertension, you will not only get your blood pressure into the healthy zone but YOU will also reclaim the good health that you rightly deserve.
Definition of physical health A definition of physical health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
